South Carolina

Let me start off by saying I have a pretty awesome husband.  He does such a great job taking care of Aiden and myself.  He works very hard to provide and still has time to love on us and surprise us.  :) The biggest surprise came at Christmas when he got me a very thoughtful gift.  He knows how much I love South Carolina (keep in mind I had never been there. I just love it based on what I've read and seen on tv). So on Christmas he gave me a box filled with South Carolina information and a homemade brochure with all the details.  He gave me a trip!!!  A FOUR WEEK trip!  We drove from Dallas to Charleston where we stayed for a week (not long enough) then drove up the coast and stayed on the beach.  Pretty perfect gift and took a lot of thought and planning on his part!  I sure love him!

Ok, ok, enough kissing up...here are some pictures from our fabulous vacation.  Caution... picture overload!!!!

We had a brillant idea to take a picture at every stop we made.  First stop, Canton gas station! :)

Happpppy little traveler!  This is too good to be true!

Another bright idea was to take a picture every time we crossed into a different state. Please note that this is the first and only state picture we got.  Aiden pretty much lost it as soon as we put him back in his car seat.  He cried the entire state of Louisiana and a good part of Mississippi! :(

We made it!  After a two day trip, the first thing we did was go see the ocean on Sullivan Island (a five minute drive from where we stayed in Mount Pleasant)

Building a sandcastle

Ice cream after eating at Hyman's in downtown Charleston

The Charleston Children's Museum is the BEST children's museum I've ever been to.  Aiden and I drove downtown twice to go.  It was so much fun!

Art time at the museum

Finished product :)

We took a private evening harbor cruise to see some dolphins.  We didn't see any :)

There are so many plantations and gardens in the area.  We visited a couple starting with Magnolia Plantation.

Petting zoo at the plantation.  You could walk around with the animals!  So cool.

We took a carriage ride through downtown Charleston.  I was in love with all of the houses and wraparound porches.

We ended our Charleston stay with a trip to watch the Riverdogs play baseball. They had a bounce slide that Aiden loved.

Aquarium at Myrtle Beach-  Aiden didn't like the dinosaurs exhibit

We rode the Sky Wheel in Myrtle Beach

Aiden had to bring bear along for the ride.  :)

What a great trip we had!!!! During our stay at the beach Erin came down for a weekend visit.  We had a lot of fun lounging on the beach together! :)  Josh and I plan to go back to SC very soon!
