Summer in a nutshell...

So sorry... I totally forgot about our blog.  I'm not going to promise to post everyday like I had originally planned, but I will post when I can think about it. :) We have had an extremely busy summer, as always!  I'm a bit overwhelmed about posting a "summer" post because we did so much, but I think I can narrow it down to a few highlights.

May started off with Nana (my mom) coming to visit and we met her at the lake house.  For those of you that don't know my parents live in Balikpapan, Indonesia and work for Chevron. They have lived out of the country for the last 8.5 years.  We miss them all the time and wish daily that they would move home, BUT having them out of the country has provided us with great opportunities to travel and see things we could have never before seen.  Anyway, every year mom comes at the beginning of summer with my dad following shortly behind.  Here are a few pictures of her visit in May.

First time in the lake.  Aiden is very lucky I love him and I am willing to get in with him...I HATE the water!

We continued that weekend visiting with family and friends.  Aiden got to meet his Uncle Bobby, Aunt Starr, and cousins Chelsey, Samantha, and Reagan.  We were lucky to celebrate Samantha's (my cousin) graduation.

Congrats Sam! We love you.

Aiden getting some love from Chelsey.  She is one of the most caring people I have ever known.

May wraps up with a visit to our family friends Carla and Mike's.  They live in Conroe and invited us over for Memorial weekend. Aiden got to swim in the pool with his girlfriend Aubrey.

June didn't slow down any!  We started off with our great friends Jodi, Tanner, and beautiful baby Parker coming to visit.  We had a nice time visiting, shopping, and eating out.  Aiden loves playing with little kids, especially ones that are older.  He just sits and tries to imitate what they are doing.

Aiden and Parker at Texas de Brazil.  This was Aiden's first time in a highchair.

Our family was very busy in June with weddings, bachelorette parties, and lake trips.  Here are a few highlights of June...

Ed and Sylvia's wedding.  It was SOOO beautiful and we were happy to celebrate with them.

Our good friends Rusty and Lindsay came down for the Addison wedding with their daughter Emily, Aiden's other girlfriend.

Aiden eating fruits and veggies for the first time.  He is a pro now eating avocados, squash, peas, green beans, apples, bananas, pears, plums, peaches, and sweet potatoes. He is a champ and will eat annnything until you stop feeding him.

Brushing Aiden's teeth.  In June, he only had two little bottom teeth and now he has six total (two on bottom, four on top).

July started off with a trip to the lake for the 4th of July. It was a full house and we loved spending time with all our family.

Josh and Aiden at the lake.  For some reason I thought I got more pictures during our July lake trip but I guess not.

After the lake we all came back to Dallas for a couple of days before Josh, my mom, my dad, Marcus, my uncle and I went to Las Vegas.  Again, I only took a few pictures and them my camera broke.

Pop and Aiden hanging out before we leave for Vegas.  His grandma and papaw watched him for five days while we had a great time in Las Vegas.  What a blessing they are!

Marcus and I in the lobby at the Venetian waiting on everyone to come down for the morning.

Aiden's first ride on the carousel.  He loved it!

We started a new church at the beginning of August.  This was at lunch after Aiden's first time in the nursery.

Every Wednesday, Aiden and I go to the Frisco library to sing, read books, and dance.  He has a blast watching the other little kiddos in our group.

Little man ready to read!-- He only sat in this chair for 30 seconds before he was up moving around.

Aiden and Josh swimming at the pool in our neighborhood.  He has really been a fish lately.  We swim a couple of times a week.

Uncle Marcus and Sarah came to visit and brought Aiden a new Curious George book with a monkey!

Aiden, Marcus, Sarah, and I went to the circus in Ft. Worth.  Our favorite part was the elephants.

Josh's parents and sisters came to visit for his birthday.  Aiden and Ashlea...

Hopefully, next time I won't wait so long to post. :) This was really overwhelming trying to get our summer onto one page!!

Aiden's recent stats

It is truly amazing how much a child can change in just four short months.  Aiden is doing some really fun things these days and it is so neat to see the changes every day brings. His recent stats include:
*Weight- 14 pounds 11 ounces (41% of age)
*Height- 26.5 inches (90% of age)
*Head- 17.25 inches (84%)
*He is eating rice in the morning and oatmeal in the evening from a spoon.  He loves, loves, loves the rice and oatmeal. We thought it was a bit early for those items but his doctor suggested we add in a little solid food to add some weight on his skinny self!!  He is also getting 2 ounces of formula at night.  He absolutely HATES it.  It takes everything we have to make him eat it because he just makes the worst faces.

Eating his first food from a spoon.  We have since perfected the method...this night it was a bit messy!

* He is grabbing for toys, bottles, and pretty much anything else he can get his hands on.  He really loves grabbing mine and Josh's face.
* Rolling over is no problem, but he doesn't like it much.  He is a bit lazy and would rather us roll him over.
* He loves to put his foot in his mouth.
* He enjoys his bouncer with fun toys.

Such a happy boy!!

Broken Bow Trip

I'm once again a bit behind.  I have been meaning to blog a lot lately but haven't.  I'm going to combine our last couple trips/outings together. A couple of weekends ago we went to Broken Bow, OK to camp (in luxury) with our wonderful WAAP friends.  Of course I didn't take enough pictures but the ones I did take show how beautiful the area was.  We stayed in a gorgeous log cabin that was secluded all by itself with plenty of room for all of our activities.  It was perfect because they guys could play and be loud and not have to worry about being "shushed"!!  We got there late Thursday night and Aiden did great.  He seems to know when we are about 15 minutes from being somewhere because that is when he SCREAMS!  It is definitely the most trying time of a trip.  Friday we got to see Broken Bow from a true Broken Bower, Pam.  She gave us a tour of her hometown.  It is always fun to see where someone grew up.  WAAP Olympics also took place.  Saturday we went kayaking.  I must admit, I was very nervous because I do not like the water, but I LOVED IT!!  We will definitely be going back. Here are a couple pictures from the trip:
Joe and Kristin playing with each other

Josh and Henry playing bocce ball

Marci and Lindsay playing horseshoes

The lovely cabin

After our trip to Broken Bow, Josh headed back to Austin for his final week there and Aiden and I headed to San Angelo to visit my grandparents and then on to Lubbock to visit Marcus and celebrate his baptism.  I always think I take more pictures than I did...but these are all I got!

At church with my grandparents and Krystyn, Marcus' girlfriend

Finally, Josh, Aiden, and I went to Midland for a quick weekend.  Josh flew in late Friday night then Saturday we went to Erin and Michael's shower.  It was a great time and it was so fun seeing old friends.  I look forward to all of Erin's upcoming events!!!!!

Aiden with his oldest cousin Jordan heading to lunch.  He was so very sleepy.

I thought this picture was funny...Josh and Jake huddled around Josh's tiny phone watching the Laker game.  If you look closely you can see the "tv" propped up against the beer bottle.
